I give up...Clapotis is permanently in the frogpond. I have no future plans to knit this beautiful wrap. I will have to admire Clapotis from afar....***sigh***
throw away the excel spreadsheet. it's much easier than that. just use stitch markers to separate the repeats (sorry if i sound like a broken record) and follow the pattern as written.
if you could do lacewings, you can absolutely do clapotis. i'm rooting for you, d!
You can totally do it Diane! Maybe give yourself a few weeks off though - get settled in over here, find a nice quiet afternoon over Christmas where you can sit back and quietly knit with no distractions. Once you get the rhythmn of the pattern it makes sense.
No no no no no ... NO! You can totally do it. Just get into the groove thang. To make you feel better about it (and yourself)i have started and re-started Cosy a gazillion times (along with many other patterns ... as you well know). but i'm not giving up, so YOU mustn't either. I've seen you do waaaay more complicated things anyway. You probably just need a good cup of hot chocolate. .. (my answer to everything) t.
Okay, Diane, if you can get your family shifted across the Atlantic, you can certainly conquer this little obstacle. I'll add my Rah-Rah to the others, even though I've never done the Clapotis. But, I agree with Amy that perhaps the chart is limiting your view of what the repeating pattern is. And I know that Isobel even did away with the stitch markers and did a purl stitch to show where she was (listen to me writing as if I knew what I was talking about!) Anyway....keep at it and I know that you will crow over the completed project!
okay, folks...you have all convinced me. I will take a break ( I have to study for my medication administration test anyways!) I will pick up Clapotis when I am not so frazzled.

Noooooo! Don't give up! Where are you having the problem in the pattern? There's many of us here in the blogsphere that can help you!
If I can knit a Clapotis, anyone can! I agree though - maybe you just need to take a break and knit something else. We won't let you give up for good!

Of course you can do it.
And I'm happy to see that G and B made it to the other side of the pond. Is G still a crackberry addict?
YEAH! I am glad that you decided to give it another shot later. Sometimes a break is all you need to look at something with "fresh" eyes.
I can't wait to see it when it's done!
Yea!!
